Hi! I’m Brian, owner, and guy who will probably answer the phone when you call. And this is my 3-step formula for creating a nice neighborhood car dealership.
• Beginning at age 9, obsessively research automotive history. Develop encyclopedic knowledge of all brands, models, option packages, years to avoid, fixes for common problems. Spend 40 years subscribing to car magazines, watching auctions, scouring online ads, slinking around dealerships, test-driving cars beyond means, harvesting knowledge-bases of online car communities, ruining parties with obscure car facts and pop culture car references.
• Purchase dirt lot by a train crossing in Downtown Tucson for next to nothing, spend a decade making it as magical as possible. Assemble talented, charming good-time crew to acquire and recondition all the best cars. Perform all deferred maintenance, consult car-savants to determine likelihood of mechanical failures and preemptively address all known issues, wake up at 4:30 every morning to go through inventory and compile to-do list to achieve absolute flawlessness on every level from detailing to administrative tasks. Lovingly dust and polish inventory daily, as though orphans waiting for a forever family.
• Learn every shady used car salesman trick in the book. 4-Square, bad math, obfuscation, concealment of mechanical and/or title issues, tacking points on to interest rates, selling people cars they can’t afford so you can repossess them and sell the same car 8 times.
And then don’t do any of that. Muah haha.
Here’s the thing. You won’t know you can trust us until 6 months into owning the car. But we’re not going anywhere. We’ll see you in grocery stores, at the racquet club, the splash pad, the city council meeting. When you do see us, we’d like to know that you have no problems with us. The thing about Tucson is that if you plan on staying, it’s smart to play fair. We’re all accountable at some point.
But you won’t know you DON’T hate us until you come in, lean on a fender, and talk cars a little. Like I said, we’re here. 🙂
